Honoring God
In this time of Thanksgiving be sure to give thanks to God for all He has done and continues to do for us. We’re thankful Father God for your son Jesus and the precious gift of redemption that you have given to us. Spend time today honoring God and give Him thanks and honor! Allow God to minister to your heart.
Psalm 107:1 proclaims – “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” Thank you father God for your enduring mercy.
In Psalms 7:17 the psalmist states “I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.” God is a righteous God. Give praise to him and honor him for His righteousness. Spend your time honoring God. He is righteous and He has made us righteous.
Thanksgiving and Honoring God
In Colossians 3:5 we see that we all walk in sin. It’s in our nature. Cast away your sinful nature. We are new men and women. Realize that we are a new creature in Christ Jesus. We are created and reborn in His image. Thank God and honor Him for all that He has done for us. Don’t wait for Thanksgiving to be thankful. Rejoice every day and honor God. We live under grace and mercy. Thank you Father God for your grace and mercy upon us!
God loves His children. We honor you God for providing us your son Jesus Christ. Thank you for providing for all of our needs. We thank you for providing a way for us to come before you and talk with you. God wants us to know what His Word says to us. Open your eyes and ears and receive God’s Word.
Jesus came that we may have life and to have it more abundantly. Praise God. We are thankful Jesus that we have an abundance to bless others. Thank you Father God for the peace you have placed in our lives. Be rich in God this day.
Honoring God as Your Master
In Malachi 1:6 we read that “A son honors his father, And a servant his master.” God is your master. Honor God. Delegate authority over your life to Him. Open your heart and humble yourself to Him. Live according to God’s Word. Honor God with your thoughts and possessions. Spend your days honoring God. Live according to His word. Respect God for who He is, for what He is and what He has done. Thank you for the healing power that is available to us. Thank you Jesus that we do not have to remain sick.
In 1 Samuel 2:30 God tells His children that if we honor Him, He will honor us. Halleluiah! All glory and honor and praise to our Lord God almighty. God will honor your life if you let him. Honor God just as the elders of old. Just as in Revelation 4:10-11 fall down before Him proclaiming “You are worthy, oh Lord, to receive glory and honor.” Honor your master.
Who does the bible say we should honor?
We read in Deuteronomy 5:16 that we are to Honor your father and your mother. Leviticus 19:32 instructs us to “rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man” – honor the elderly. 1 Timothy 5:3-4 instructs us to honor true widows (widows who have no children to honor them) for this is good and acceptable before God. 1 Peter 2:13-14 says to submit yourselves to every ordinance of man whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers. Honor your fellow man even those who are in positions to rule over us.
5 Ways to Honor God
Honor God with your time.
How are you using your precious time to Honor God? In Psalm 144:4 the psalmist states that “Man is like a breath; His days are like a passing shadow.” We don’t have an abundance of time. Use that time honoring God. Honor God with your time.
Honor God with your talent.
God gives us talents. Don’t squander your talent by hiding it. God gave it to you to use. Multiple your talent into the kingdom of God. How awesome will it be when we hear “well done my good and faithful servant” from our Father in heaven! Sow your talent into the kingdom of God and honor God with your talent.
Honor God with your body.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 tells us that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are not your own. We were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. Honor God with your body and your spirit.
Honor God with your treasure.
In Matthew 6:21 we see that “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” If we honor God with our treasure we are honoring God with our heart! Honor God with your treasure.
Honor God with your ticker (heart).
Do not remove your heart far from God. Your honor of God must come from and be in your heart. God must come first. Your spirit man is alive and well. Honor God with your ticker. Honor God with your heart.
Be real with God. You can’t fool Him. Be real with yourself and honor God with all of you.
Pray along with Pastor Derrick at the end of this video. We seek you Father. We want to honor you Father with our whole heart. All we have is for you Father God. Strengthen us that we may use our bodies to honor you. Help us to use our time to bring honor to your name. We sow our talents into Your kingdoms oh Lord for your glory and for your honor.
